General Information

Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design and efficient functioning of integrated systems consisting of human, equipment, material, machinery, capital, energy resources, information systems and its elements. It draws on specialized knowledge and skills in mathematics, computing, social and science, as well as engineering analysis and design methods, to identify, predict and evaluate the results obtained from these systems.

Industrial engineers work on the design, planning, improvement and control of effective production/service systems to solve complex problems. These design and improvement principles can be applied in many different sectors such as production, transportation and logistics, software, tourism, telecommunications, education-consulting, finance and banking, textile, energy, health. Therefore, the employment field of Industrial Engineering is one of the broadest engineering branches.

Samsun University Industrial Engineering Department was established in 2019 within the Faculty of Engineering and started to accept students in the 2021-2022 academic year with a 30% English supported undergraduate program and a quota of 40 students.
